Reading the Dashboard

A guide to the Overview, User Journeys, Sessions, Performance and Products tabs.

The Metrik dashboard has six tabs. The date range and currency selected in the top bar apply to all of them.

Date range

Presets cover the last 7, 14 and 28 days, last month and the last 3 months. The default is the last 14 days, and you can pick a custom range. New projects switch automatically to today, because there is no history yet.

Overview

The top row holds the core metrics: visitors, sessions, pageviews, pages per session, bounce rate and average duration. The percentage beside each compares it with the previous period of the same length.

With revenue tracking on, revenue, orders, average order value and conversion rate are added.

The chart

Visitors appear as a line, with a bar series aligned beneath it on its own scale. The bars show revenue, goals or orders — whichever is available, in that order. The icon of the day's top traffic source sits above each bar.

Today's line is dashed

The current day is not finished, so it is drawn with a dashed line. What looks like a drop is usually just an incomplete day.

The Top Pages card can group pages three ways: path only, with the hostname, or the full address including query parameters.

Cross-filtering

Selecting a row in any card applies that value as a filter across the whole page. Click a country, for example, and every other card narrows to that country. Use Clear in the banner at the top to remove it.

User Journeys

Shows the path visitors take through your pages in three columns: entry page, second step, third step. Selecting a page in one column recalculates the next.

Sessions

Lists individual sessions. Opening one shows everything the visitor did, in order: pageviews, clicks, goals and payments.

Filters cover page path, revenue-generating sessions, channel, country, device and session duration.

The Identified Visitors tab shows users you named with identify() — see Identifying users.

Performance

Reports the five Core Web Vitals from real visitor data. Selecting a metric opens its daily trend, the slowest pages, a device and browser breakdown, connection speed and navigation type.

The headline figure is the p75: 75% of your visitors experience that value or better.

Products

With revenue tracking on and order data present, this reports by product: revenue, units sold, orders and average order value. Selecting a product opens its traffic, country breakdown and sales trend.

Settings

The Settings tab is where you track monthly event usage, manage your access key and connect e-commerce integrations.

Watch your usage

A warning appears once you pass 80% of your monthly allowance. When it runs out, new events are not recorded and are not backfilled afterwards.
