Claude Desktop Setup

Connect Semust by editing the Claude Desktop configuration file.

  1. Find the config file

    The location depends on your operating system.

    SystemLocation
    macOS~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
    Windows (direct install)%APPDATA%\\Claude\\
    Windows (Microsoft Store)%LOCALAPPDATA%\\Packages\\Claude_pzs8sxrjxfjjc\\LocalCache\\Roaming\\Claude\\

  2. Add the mcpServers block

    If the file already has content, merge the mcpServers key into the existing JSON rather than replacing the file. See Configuration for the full block.

  3. Quit Claude Desktop completely

    Closing the window is not enough. Right-click the system tray icon and choose Quit, then reopen it.

  4. Verify

    In a new chat, click the tools icon (hammer) near the text input. You should see semust-mcp and its tools. Type "Show me my projects" — your projects should be listed.

If the tools icon does not appear, Claude Desktop probably did not fully quit. Exit it from the system tray and try again.
