Looker Studio
Connecting reports
Bring every element of a Semust report into Looker Studio as one data source.
The quickest way to take a report you built in the report builder to Looker Studio is to connect it as one data source. Every element of the report becomes a group of fields in that data source; you don't add elements one by one.
Which option to choose
After you pick your project, the connector's list offers:
| Option | What you get | When |
|---|---|---|
| Rapor · Aylık SEO Raporu (12 öğe) | Every element of that report | Rebuilding a client report in Looker |
| Tüm raporlar (all reports) | The elements of every report in the project | Feeding several reports from one data source |
| Single sources such as Search Console · En İyi Sorgular Tablosu | One element, with default settings | Adding data that isn't in your reports — see Data sources |
Tüm raporlar only appears when the project has more than one report. Elements without data, such as text and headings, are not counted.
Connecting a report
Open the report
In Semust, open the report and choose Connect to Looker Studio from the settings menu at the top right. Create a key if you don't have one (Keys and connection status).
Open it in Looker Studio
Click Open in Looker Studio. If you have authorized the connector before, the project and report are already selected. The first time, Looker asks for your key first; after entering it, click the button once more.
Connect
Click Connect at the top right. Every field of the report is listed.
Create the report
Click Create report and build your charts as below.
Field names
Every field name starts with the element's title in the report:
| Element in the Semust report | Fields in Looker |
|---|---|
| Trafik Trendi (performance chart) | Trafik Trendi · Date, Trafik Trendi · Clicks, Trafik Trendi · Impressions… |
| En İyi Sorgular (query table) | En İyi Sorgular · Query, En İyi Sorgular · Clicks… |
| Backlink Özeti | Backlink Özeti · Total Backlinks, Backlink Özeti · Active Backlinks… |
- With Tüm raporlar, the report name comes first: Aylık SEO Raporu · En İyi Sorgular · Query.
- An element without a title takes the data source's name. If a title appears twice in a report, the second gets (2).
- Type an element's name in Looker's field list to see only that element's fields.
Building charts
A chart uses the fields of one element. Put fields of two elements in the same chart and Looker shows "Bir grafik raporun yalnızca tek bir öğesinin alanlarını kullanabilir" — different tables cannot be joined.
| Chart | Dimension | Metric |
|---|---|---|
| Time series | Trafik Trendi · Date | Trafik Trendi · Clicks |
| Table | En İyi Sorgular · Query | En İyi Sorgular · Clicks, … · CTR |
| Scorecard | — | Backlink Özeti · Total Backlinks |
| Pie chart | Cihaz Performansı · Device | Cihaz Performansı · Clicks |
Why the charts don't come over automatically
Google does not let an app create charts or page layouts in Looker Studio. So your report's data is carried over, not its layout: you build the charts in Looker once, and the data updates every time the report is opened.
Which settings come along
- The element's Semust settings: campaign, device, filters, sorting, row count and selected metrics. The rows you see in Looker are the ones in the Semust report.
- The date range comes from Looker. Your Looker report's date range control replaces the report's date setting in Semust.
- Previous-period comparison does not come along. Use the chart's Comparison date range option in Looker.
- Google Ads and Meta Ads elements without a campaign use Tüm kampanyalar (all campaigns).
- Google Maps elements without a grid tracker cannot load data; edit the element in Semust and pick a tracker.
When you change the report
- After adding or removing elements, go to Resource › Manage added data sources › Edit › Refresh fields in Looker; the new element's fields appear.
- Moving or renaming elements does not break existing charts: fields are tied to the element, not to its position or title. Refresh the fields to see a new title in Looker.
- Deleting an element leaves the Looker charts that used it showing an invalid-field warning.
