Looker Studio
Tips
Using CTR, position, dates and "no data" values correctly in Looker Studio.
Find report fields quickly
A connected report can have a long field list. Type an element's name in Looker's field search (e.g. En İyi Sorgular) and only that element's fields remain. Every field in a chart must come from the same element.
Compare in Looker
Reports arrive in Looker without previous-period data. Use the chart's Comparison date range option to compare with the previous period or the previous year.
Get total CTR with a calculated field
In Search Console tables, CTR (daily avg.) and Position (daily avg.) are the mean of the period's daily values. When Looker averages them again across rows you get an "average of averages", which is not the real CTR.
For the total CTR on your dashboard, create a calculated field:
SUM(Clicks) / SUM(Impressions)Set its type to Percent.
Percentages arrive as ratios
Percentage fields such as CTR, conversion rate and bounce rate are sent to Looker as ratios (0.05 = 5%) and Looker displays them as percentages. They use the same scale whatever the source (Search Console, Google Ads, Google Analytics).
Empty means "no data"
In rank tracking, the position of a keyword that does not rank arrives empty (null), not 0 or -1, so unranked keywords do not drag your average-position charts down. A 0 in a rank change means "unchanged" and arrives as is.
Date range
Dated sources (performance charts, daily tables) return only rows inside the range selected in the report. Sources such as the technical SEO audit, the backlink list and current rankings show the present state and are not affected by the date range.
Keep the dashboard fast
Using the same data source in several charts does not add requests; Semust caches an identical request for 10 minutes. A key is limited to 60 requests per minute, so on very busy dashboards some charts may load a few seconds later.
